RFA CEO Comments on New EPA Refinery Waivers

Calling it a significant broken promise on the part of President Trump that will hurt rural America at the worst possible time, Renewable Fuels Association President and CEO Geoff Cooper strongly criticized the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s announcement late Friday that granted 31 more exemptions from the Renewable Fuel Standard to oil refineries, representing 1.43 billion gallons of additional lost RFS demand.

In this interview, Cooper talks about why the waivers are so destructive, how this action will create additional problems for the already stressed farm economy and biofuels industry, and what the industry is doing to fight back against what they believe is illegal action on the part of EPA.
