Heading into the 2016 Farm Progress Show in Iowa, the Association of Equipment Manufacturers hosted a Rural Infrastructure Summit in Ames on August 29 in cooperation with Agri-Pulse Communications. The Summit addressed how the ag industry will need to develop new, innovative ideas to solve the infrastructure challenges that face rural America today and in the future; both in the day-to-day operations of the agricultural economy and in moving products around the world.
The program consisted to two panels moderated by Agri-Pulse Editor Sara Wyant: Rural Infrastructure and the Ag Economy: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly; and Disruptive Innovation: Not Just for Silicon Valley. The keynote presentation was delivered by Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey with the Summit kicked off with remarks from Leif Magnusson, President, CLAAS Global Sales Americas and Chair of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers.
