New Pricing for Pivot Bio Microbial Nitrogen Offers Greater ROI as Study Confirms Improved Crop Performance

The company’s technology offers farmers consistent results, resilience against early-season challenges, high customer satisfaction, and the best-value nitrogen on the market

AMES, IOWA (Oct. 25, 2024) — Farmers using Pivot Bio’s PROVEN® 40 microbial nitrogen are realizing significant plant health benefits and stronger ROI despite early season weather challenges. As part of their ongoing support for farmers facing tough economics, the company announced a lower price for its product for the 2025 growing season alongside a 0% financing program.

“We understand the evolving financial dynamics that farmers are facing,” said Chris Turner, Pivot Bio chief commercial officer. “We want to meet farmers where they are and set them up for success year after year. We’re proud to provide farmers with the tools they need to farm more confidently and mitigate risks effectively.”

A national study from 2022-2024 showed that corn treated with PROVEN 40, a microbially derived nitrogen source, had an average 9% increase in in-plant nitrogen compared to the standard practices.

During that same three-year period, farmers experienced, on average, nearly a bushel per acre yield advantage when replacing nearly 40 pounds of nitrogen with PROVEN 40.

“The results underscore our commitment to providing farmers with the best and most reliable nitrogen source that works through another mode of action to complement traditional sources of nitrogen. This ensures a steady nitrogen supply, even when Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate,” said Turner.

Pivot Bio’s proprietary gene-edited microbes fix nitrogen directly to the plant, spoon-feeding it to the roots. This allows crops to utilize both microbial and traditional nitrogen sources. When farmers replace up to 40 pounds of nitrogen with microbial nitrogen, they can diversify their fertilizer management plans and solve for a percentage of nitrogen loss to maintain or improve their yield.

“Crops with a reliable nitrogen source do better and are consistent in their ability to withstand the elements because they are simply healthier,” said Turner. “And we know that farmers continue to trust microbial nitrogen to keep their crops healthy year after year.”

In a recent customer satisfaction survey, farmers gave Pivot Bio a 91% customer satisfaction rating, citing plant health, ease of application and better ROI as reasons they incorporate PROVEN 40 as a foundational piece of their nitrogen management plan.

The customer satisfaction survey, conducted by a third-party research firm, took place between June 12 and July 1, 2024. It gathered insights from nearly 400 farmers nationwide who have integrated Pivot Bio products into their nitrogen management plans.
