Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack spoke to the joint meeting of the National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF), the National Dairy Promotion and Research Board (NDB), and the United Dairy Industry Association (UDIA) in Orlando this week, highlighting the positives in the face of lower milk prices and discussing the opportunities for the industry to move forward in the future.
In an interview after his address, Vilsack talked about his message to dairy producers, how the new trade agreement can benefit them, and sign up for the new Dairy Margin Protection Program. He also comments on the Subway announcement regarding using meat from animals treated with antibiotics, and the WHO statement about meat causing cancer.
